Patchwork Tsushin

I couldn't resist the latest Patchwork Tsushin when I was ordering from Amazon Japan. The theme is Modern Quilts and there are some beautiful interesting quilts in there along with block ideas and patterns for smaller things like cushions, bags and softies. The Japanese quilt magazines are always the ones that survive my craft room clean outs. Not matter how many times I go back and flick through them I see something new and am inspired to sew.

I ordered this magazine last week after just seeing the cover on Instagram. I am so glad I did. Thanks for the preview.

I'm sorry, I have to ask a really dumb question (ok, probably more than one, LOL).... How can I make things from a Japanese pattern magazine & trust that it'll come out ok? Do you speak Japanese? I can't read or speak Japanese, but then again I'm American. LOL! Have you heard the joke?... A person who speaks 3 languages is tri-lingual, a person who speaks 2 languages is bi-lingual, a person who speaks one language is probably American. ;) It's sad to admit it, but it's usually true. Anyway, I'm asking because yours isn't the only sewing blog I read where the writer/sewist has made things from a Japanese pattern book or magazine. There have been several designs I would have liked to try myself, but I don't know that I feel comfortable embarking on a pattern if I can't read the directions.
