Spotty Shirt for Olive

A new spotty shirt for Olive.
I've had this Japanese sewing book (ISBN 9784579112890) for years, but don't think I have ever got around to making anything from it, despite little post it notes on several pages.
The fabric was in my stash, I'm pretty sure it came from the Spotlight sale table one day for only a couple of dollars a meter.  Big decision but I went with the whale buttons.
It was the perfect combination. Now to make the pants to go with it.

On The Go Backpack

I think this might be the perfect kids backpack! Its the On The Go Backpack by Heather Bailey, which I bought after seeing it in Heather's booth at Quilt Market last May.
Eva chose the fabrics (this is where having a large stash is very useful) and I whipped it up while she was at school one day. The instructions were very clear it went together perfectly. She loves it, it was used immediately, and think a couple the other girls might want one. If you want to make a backpack I highly recommend this pattern!

Experimenting

No deadlines this month and Olive in kindy a few days a week means I have had time to try new things, experiment with ideas and get excited about creating.
