Modern Blocks

My copy of Modern Blocks - 99 Quilt Blocks from your Favorite Designers is here! So many interesting blocks. Pieced, appliqued, foundations pieces - there is something for everyone.
I have two blocks in there - Higgledy Piggledy

and Stuck in the Middle.

I have one copy to giveaway (I am sorry but it is for Australians only as the postage costs for a book this heavy are completely ridiculous). You don't have to do anything tricky, just leave a comment by Tuesday 29th November 6pm telling me what you are sewing at the moment.

Oooh very cool, congrats on being published in it TWICE!! :) And thanks for giving us Aussies a chance to win a copy!

At the moment I am making a quilt top from a Sophie jelly roll and Kona charcoal for my daughter, then I am about to start on a skull quilt for my son once the fabric for it arrives :)

Congratulations! It looks like a lovely book. Right now I'm finishing off a hand quilted dolls quilt, and should be quilting a machine quilted big quilt.

Ohh! Pretty blocks! I like the modern take on them there, very nice.

I'm currently making myself a dress (I've very nervous at making clothing) out of my new Stylish Dress Book. It's Japanese (translated thankfully).

I'm shortly about to start a dress for my daughter (Kids stuff is so much easier to fit!)

The book and projects look great! I am quickly sewing summer clothes before it gets hot. We are mostly staying home unti I finish, lol.

Oh count me in please!
At the moment I am putting together a quilt for a new baby niece. Nothing very fancy though, just charms packs sewn together. I obviously need that book for inspiration!

I'd love some quilting inspiration, right now I'm making a nightie for my 4 year old, and seriously thinking about full bust alterations for myself, trying to talk myself into it.

Great blocks, would love to give them a go. The main thing I am working on at the moment is a quilt for a friends 40th. I am using garden fence block with Terrain by Kate Spain and white boarders. I may try a couple of Chevron blocks in the backing. Will have to see what fabric is left over. Hugs Sandra

That book looks like a great resource. At the moment I am attempting to sew myself some dresses from the Japanese Sewing book (translated into English) The Stylish Dress book. I haven't made clothes for myself for years! I have a wedding coming up soon & if all goes well, with attempt to make a dress to wear to that from this book as well.

Hi There, What a gorgeous book! I love simple yet effective designs. At the moment I am reconnecting with my sewing and having a go at making a dress for my daughter. She has a budding sense of style and it's fun to make something different...and hopefully a better fit.
Love reading your blog.Fingers & toes are crossed!

The book looks fabulous!... Well done for being infused twice...

I am currently sewing christmas all-sorts including a quilt for my niece and one each for my two boys. I am also in the process of making angel costumes for the school Christmas concert, dolls clothes and pajamas.

Wow! I'd better get a move on and stop reading a fantastic blog!...

Thanks for the chance to win.

I love the book and so much want to try the new blocks. I admire the way you are able to jump from patchwork and quilting to dressmaking - once I started patchwork and quilting my dressmaking skills seems to have got lost in 1/4 inch seams - or perhaps my body shape was no longer 'Vogue'. Even if I don't win the fabulous book - I'll still be reading and enjoying your blog. Thank you ..

Congratulations on your part in the book. I'm sewing a Christmas runner at the moment and then I'll be making some clothes for some of my grandchildren
