Inspiration

I spent the girls nap time trying to finish some Christmas orders and make a plan for what needed to be done in the next few week. I managed to finish these two wombats.

Looking at the one pink one I realised how much I think my fabric choice is influenced by Pamela Peake. I love the fabrics she used for her animals. Here is a page from The Golden Hands Book of 80 Toys to make for Children I got a while ago on ebay. I think there is only the hippo and hedgehog patterns from her in this book. Check out her book Creative Soft Toy Making for more of her great patterns.

Looking at this picture of the wombats I realised that I've managed to put a little bit of me in them!!

Love these wombats. Love the back view. The tags make them look so professional.

I seriously heart Pamela Peake. She is one of my all time favourites.

God help me, I think you may have the one book of hers that I've never seen!

@$%$^#@!

How do you get your turned seams to look so nice? Mine are always kinda lumpy, even when I clip the curves.

gorgeous wombats. I seriously love the fabrics that Pamela Peake uses too- and I can see how you're influenced by her, but you also have your own distinctive/more modern style too. Are you going to make your Christmas presents too?

Kate you have been so busy, I have just caught up with your last few posts. I love the wombats and the dachshund definately looks like a dachshund. Also the bag you sold on Etsy is sooooo gorgeous, no wonder it sold so quickly.

OK Kate...we gotta come to some terms here...you have GOT to quit posting pictures of these things! They are all so adorable, and the cutest little animals and dolls I have EVER seen, and you are going to send me STRAIGHT into bankruptcy! lol! But I think I'm serious.

Maybe you and the girls could come to Texas and move in with me, and instead of rent, you can pay me with dolls, wombats, giraffes, and any other toys you decide to make!

I'm going to have to try to find that book! And I know I'm serious about that! lol!
