Pencil Rolls and Fabric

More pencil cases for presents using the pattern from Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts. I'd forgotten I had half made these before I had Eva so I felt like I had been really productive after only half an hours sewing.

New fabric - I think the girls love it as much as I do. It is Pop Garden by Heather Bailey.

I have had that book for ages and still not made anything from it! Heather Bailey's new collection is beautiful. Can't wait to see what comes of it.

The pencil rolls look fabulous. You could make them into dpn roll holders too which would be great. I love all the fabrics too, and how nice the girls share your love for it too. My daughter loves to do that with buttons.

Hi Kate,

Love the pencil case roll. I've been looking at it in Joelle Hoverson's book. I bet it would take me 2-4 days though. (Not her stated 2-4 hours!)

Can't wait till my son is old enough to "play nicely" like yours.

Lovely projects. Its great when the kids get into as well, mine have taken to saying very grown up things like, 'do you think this button is glass or plastic?' and 'isn't this a yummy shade of pink'

That sense of achievement is so important when you have little ones. It's good to be productive and I just love those pencil rolls. I think that will be my next book.

Love love LOVE the new fabric, and simply adore the fabric choice for the pencil rolls. Such a cute gift idea. A friend's son is starting school next year, and I think this will make a neat present for him! The idea of colour coding the fabrics to the pencils is adorable.

Such gorgeous colors. i especially like how you did the various fabrics on the inside. That might look neat on the inside of a purse too? Gotta try it.
