Jalie 2679

I made a few Jalie 2679 jackets for the girls 2 years ago. They are still going strong, but are getting a little small. When all fabric was 40% off in Spotlight a few weeks ago I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to try it out and make some new jackets.
I'm pleasantly surprised by it. The outside feels like the good jackets you buy at Kathmandu or Mountain Designs. The inside of the fabric is fleecy (and bright red) and I think they will be quite warm.
Eva is very happy with hers. Now onto the next three.

Sewing Storage

I'm always looking for new ways to display quilts and store notions. I love this super wide old clothes airer that can fit three large quilts. The top one is from Strip Savvy and the middle and bottom ones are from Striking Strip Quilts.
A beautiful vintage Arabia of Finland salt pig I found on eBay is perfect to store Aurifil thread.

Laramie Shirt

I'm slowly going through the girls' wardrobes and seeing what they need for winter. Eva requested a button up shirt and I went with the Laramie Shirt by Hey June patterns. This is a great pattern with a good size range (6-16). I made the 12, which is slightly too big, but it will last a couple winters. I made the classic button up shirt version and used some rayon from Cotton and Steel.
I enjoyed sewing it and Eva loves it so that is a definite win!
