Binding

A pile of little quilts waiting for the binding to be sewn on. I know some people think hand sewing binding is the worst part of quilting, but I really enjoy it. It is perfect to do in front of the tv and you can pick it up when you have some time and put it down without fear of losing your place. Unlike some knitting. I have a sock and a shawl half done but I have no idea where I am up to in either of them and the longer they sick there the less chance of me solving the problem.

Lol, funny you should say that, i've noticed with my customers that they either really enjoy or utterly despise binding. There's no middle ground.
I personally enjoy hand sewing but tend to outsource the binding...

I love hand sewing the bindind too, I can't believe how long it takes me though. I like how it makes sitting in front of the tv feel like not a complete waste of time.

Your quilts look so pretty all stacked up! I LOVE doing the binding -- for all the reasons you stated. I think it's my favorite part!

Your quilts beautiful in that little pile! I've never made a quilt before, but I'm about to embark on my first one soon (only a baby one, so not too big), so we'll see how I feel about binding! :) x

That looks lovely folded! I am a hand-binder too, but I have to admit I have only done one binding so far....and I can't wait to go and buy some more fabric to make your two quilt patterns! Thanks Kate!

I think it's gorgeous that you've said about your knitting... "the longer they SICK there" - perhaps a slip of the tongue / fingers because you're feeling sick about the fact that they're sitting there waiting for some action. The quilts and sewing certainly keep you busy though!
