Hats

We are off to the beach tomorrow, well kind of - we are off to Albany so we'll be lucky if it doesn't rain and can get in the water without freezing. The girls are very excited and have packed their buckets and spades and are all ready to collect shells.
I thought I might need a new hat just in case it is sunny. This hat was based on the one in Lotta Jansdotter's book. It was a good thing I pinned it all together before sewing as it needed some major altering before it was wearable, But I love how it turned out.

I thought I would make the girls a hat too. Base on a couple of different hats they had with with a few adjustments.

A new chicken and a pig.

i made that hat for my mom last spring and was (as you were) very glad that i read some other people's suggestions before i did mine. the pattern was absolutely huge and i ended up cutting the crown down about 2 inches. it turned out great and my mom loves it. might have to make one for me this year.

Gorgeous hats!
Any chance you will be putting adult hats in your shop? I've been looking for a hat for ages and haven't been able to find anything I like.
By the way, my niece absolutely loves the bag I bought from you. I filled it with hair clips I'd made and a few other goodies. She was one happy girl Christmas Day.

I made the Lotta hat too, but I thought it was just my hasty and not-very-careful reading of the pattern that made it turn out HUGE. It's a great shape though and your fabric combo is very cute.
