I finished my first machine knitted thing. I could just leave you with the pictures and pretend it all went smoothly, but the truth is that there was tears, frogging, yarn jammed in the carriage, random loops and annoyingly they were all user errors. I am glad I used some really nice yarn (Madelinetosh sock in Jade) as it made me persist and fix the mistakes and now I am wearing a lovely new scarf.
Ravelled here.

Oh wow! Gorgeous. Can we look forward to seeing more machine knitted goodies from you in the future? :-)
great effort!
[and way more impressive than my first attempt, i can assure you!]
lovely texture! I bet once you get the hang of it there will be some mighty speed compared to hand knitting.
Gorgeous color Kate, and well worth all the persistance.
I agree with all the above - allow yourself to have a learning curve! It looks great and the next one should be easy-peasy!
kate you know what they say..no pain no gain...it looks gorgous..
"it's not easy being green"....glad you persisted, it's awesome! Does not look like something that was practised on. jealous, and i'll be looking out for a knitting machine at the oppy's now!
It looks pretty perfect to me.
The stitch is great, and such beautiful shades of green.
Lovely!
Hooray!!!! Gorgeous green and totally worth the pain.
Gorgeous! Love the colour.
It'll be easier next time.
And its gorgeous.
I still can't decide what to make with the gorgeous yarn you dyed for me. Too precious to fuck up.
It's beautiful Kate!
Ooooh, very pretty! Hang in there -- I had the same problems with my embroidery machine -- when I first started, nothing went right, but now that I'm used to it, everything works just fine! You'll soon be whipping those out in no time!
All of those tears and froggings etc made me remember why I gave the knitting machine idea up in the eighties after making my son a little brown cardi when he was a two year old! I am liking the curly effect of the machine, though, on your lovely green scarf. You are now the 'girl with the green scarf'..like the movie!
I noticed the scarf on Wednesday morning - looks great in real life - I think I might have to grab my daughters machine and get you give me a little lesson. one day...........
