The Process Pledge

The Process Pledge

I have been planning on making a wallhanging/quilt for my Dad for at least a year. I have some ideas. I have some fabric, but I haven't been able to commit enough to start to cut and sew.

So I am taking the process pledge. I am not giving myself a timeline and there will be no pressure. I am just going to see what evolves.

I come from a farm in the wheatbelt where Dad has lived his entire life (in the same farm in the same house). I really love aerial pictures of the paddocks and so does Dad. We live under a flight path and I know Dad can pick the wheat bin near our house from a plane. So this is my idea - a quilt based on looking down on the farm.

In these bundles of hand dyed fabrics.

What a beautiful (and creative) idea as a gift for your dad. I'm sure he'll treasure the result...

What a brilliant idea! Your Dad will love it!I think I have always lived under a flight path and have always been able to pick out our house from a plane. (Which ever house it was.) Now we live across the road from the airport and it is really easy to pick out our house!

What a great idea - we had a big trip to western NSWthe weekend and I kept thinking how much the paddocks and pastures looked like patchwork quilts and the contoured ploughed fields looked like they were quilted.
Looking forward to seeing your finshed product, Kate. you are so inspiring.

Awesome. Looking down is always my favourite part of flying. I particularly love flying over the saltlakes up north.
