New Hair and New Boots

It was time for a new hair colour. My hair has been getting darker as I get older (it was white as a child) and so I thought I would try getting it dyed closer to its real colour.
It is almost the same colour as these fab boots that arrived in the mail. Cherry red Dr Martens that are oh so comfy (I am wearing them as I type). I have quite wide feet that grew with both my pregnancies and I consider comfortable shoes a necessity. My grandmother had polio as a child and had feet different sizes and for years were squished into shoes the wrong size and she had horrible feet problems. She was always telling us to wear good shoes that fit so who am I to disagree? Dr Martens fit perfectly and last forever. I bought them here on ebay.

I had to do something at work a few weeks ago, it was relecting on a lot of 'favourites' over the years. 'Favourite Shoes?' was one of the questions and it was so dead easy to answer (some of the others required pondering)- cherry red Doc's that I wore FOREVER (and can't remember what ever happened to them). Anyway, these are liek the 'grown up' version. What was the postage like? Thanks for the link!

The boots look fabulous. I too grew half a size in my feet with each pregnancy so now wear a size 10. I am hoping by losing some weight around my middle my calves and feet might shrink a bit so I can fit back into my black boots again. Your hair color looks nice, reminds me I need to redye mine to hide all the gray hairs.

What lovely boots! My Dad had polio and similar problems to your grandmother so I decided as a teenager that if shoes weren't comfortable and fit right I wouldn't wear them. Those look comfy! I like your hair too! I used to dye to rid myself of the white hairs, but when I became a grandma at 44 my kids convinced me to stop dying. After all, if a grandma can't have grey hair who can? I don't mind the white bits, just wish it was all white!

I think you've just caused a spike in the sale of Doc Marten boots!! They look super-comfy and stylish.... especially for those of us with feet like a duck.

LOVE the hair!!

Great new hair cut! Yes, hair gets darker. I have red hair (now with lots of grey) but as I got older people would ask me where my children get their red hair from. HUH? I always thought it was pretty obvious.

Fantastic hair colour - looks great! And fabulous boots. After carrying babies the same weight as bowling balls, I am no stranger to flat wide feet (its Kumfs all the way for me!).

Gorgeous new hair and what a blast from the past with the Docs. I've seen heaps of people wearing them recently so are they back?? Like this version a lot :)

I love those boots, I'm sorely tempted!
Your hair looks great! I have a hair dilemma too - the grey hairs are multiplying fast and I don't know whether to colour or just to go with a 'natural' look. It'll probably take me so long to make up my mind that I'll be white headed!
Thanks for dropping by by the way! The strawberries were delicious!

No, I was wondering if you'd washed it from when you stopped washing it altogether a while back.

Your hair looks great Kate. Mine has gone darker over the years too - and with two pregnancies! mine was white too, once.
I love the boots, I have never seen Doc Martens like these before. Hubs is after a new pair. Better go and check the ebay store out.

I was having such a boots wanting thing today but I only wear flat comfortable shoes too and the ones in the shops all seem heeled. I love these! I spent my twenties in Docs! You won't mind if we match will you ;-)

How wonderful, I wish my hair gets darker as I get older too... but too bad, it's the other way round. Your new hair cut and colour suit you :)
