Sophie Tunic

I was going through the girls' clothes last week and realised Evie has grown out of nearly everything. None of her shirts were covering that not so small tummy. It seems the nickname of little sluggy has stuck and that is what her sisters call her. I'm just worried with the amount she eats I'll wake up one morning and she will have metamorphosised.*
Here is a new shirt, The Sophie Tunic by SisBoom. Actually it is the second one I made, the first in size 18m-2 years would not fit over her head. So with a few alterations I made one that would. I highly recommend this pattern - really clear instructions would make it suitable for even a beginner sewer. (Just check the size of your child's head first).

*Yes I know not the best way to talk about your children, but I have been told our family is not quite normal (usually by my Mum).

That's a seriously cute tunic. My girl - Sophie (!) - is getting too long for a lot of her stuff too and I'm hoping we can hold out til October for her birthday. If not, I might have to get on the sewing machine!

my husband refers to kids as insects. Which is just charming. It's really lovely, Kate

You have such darling children and that tunic is THE cutest. I thought of you yesterday as I purchase (on sale) 4 new yummy printed corduroys.

Not normal :P What does that make the rest of us then I wonder??
My sister was alway grub from when she was a baby. So little sluggy is completely acceptable.
Top is cute too, love the fabric xox

Oh she looks so gorgeous in that top, and it suits her olive complexion too. In no way will that slug nickname stick, but you can always tell she is the inspiration for your label which is extra cute!!!

Cute top. Love your fabric choices and I love the nickname for Evie. My little sister was nicknamed scrudger as a baby (not sure why?) but she is now 21 and still gets called it.

Evie looks great in the top, and whats wrong with calling the baby sluggie? he he.

Funnily enough, we called our little one "buggy" for the bug eyes and also "Lumpy" 'cause he was! Now he's three, must stop as he understands!

Hi - I've started making the tunic for my 2 year old, but it's not going over her head either. What did you do to make it work? Yours ended up great - Thanks
