Good trip: Albany last week to see my parents and sisters.
Bad Trip: To the hospital yesterday to get the sewing machine needle removed from my finger. Lucky for you there is no picture of it. Straight through the nail and out the bottom of my finger. Pretty pleased I didn't faint or vomit or get a drop of blood on the fabric.
In sewing news for the week:
A change of pattern for the pink fabric. This is from Burda Magazine 07/2008.Quilts in progress

eeek how horrible. I hope it recovers well!
yeouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ouch! Hope it doesn't delay your sewing too long
thats so nasty!! My girls have been learning to sew...sometimes not fully supervised, I think I will watch them a little closer from now on.
Quilts are just beautiful!
Ouchie! My sister did that once, and according to her flatmates, screamed "Mummy" (she was in her twenties) before passing out.
hi
I made that dress, i did choose a 100% cotton and had very bad drape, so finished chopping it up as a top. Very comfy. I did not need to put a zipper, it just goes through the head. Would love to see the results : )
cheers

So impressed - no blood on the fabric!!! You're amazing!
I did the same thing a few months ago with my little Bernina. Mine broke off from the machine and I decided to try to take it out myself...
I feel your pain! Best wishes for fast healing.
Oh....:S it sounds really bad... hope that you are better now.
Oh My Goodness! Who would have thought sewing was such a hazardous activity!
I'm with Kris on being amazed you got no blood on the fabric! A true professional!
Hope it gets better quickly!
Ooowww, that just hit the pit of my stomach, ouch!! My new Brother machine stops if it feels the slightest wrong thing, like a finger nail, it's saved me!! Good luck brave girl, love Posie
OUCH ...Extreme sewing is not for the faint of heart !...Heal quickly ...
Just reading that on facebook yesterday made me squirm. I hope your much better today. Eva's dress is just gorgeous.
Hope your finger is healing quickly - not a pleasant injury to sustain! well done on saving the fabric:)
Eva's dress looks really sweet.
Ouch, ouch, ouch!! But I'm loving all your work. Gorgeous fabric combinations as usual!
Owie! I've never done that, yet, but I have had a rotary blade accident. Darling dress.
gawd! I didn't realize sewing was a contact sport. hope it heals quickly.
I remember my Mum doing that when I was a child, it freaked me out so much I won't sew on a machine now. Good on you for no blood on the fabric - a true seamstress.
My 8 year old did that last summer while quilting with her great aunt 2 hours away from home. The X rays are fringhtening!!
Glad you didnt bleed on the fabric;)
My mom told me her fingernail meets sewing machine horror story from her youth, and I've lived in fear of that my whole sewing career! I'm impressed you didn't bleed on the fabric, though. Hope your finger makes a quick recovery!

omg, my worst nightmare happened to you! yikes that is not good! I did once get my fingers stuck in the beaters but thankfully it was butter and it stopped the beaters going. Hope you'll be back sewing soon,.....
love all your sewing projects! so jealous and itching to get some sewing done
CORRIE:)
I'm loving retro colors of your quilts, especially the second one that's looking amazing! Do sew carefully and hope your finger heals soon. :) Eva's dress looks so cute with the green flower fabric.
Ouch!
Eva's dress is beautiful. Is there a pattern for it available?
I am swaying just thinking about your finger Kate let alone actually seeing it! I have always wondered if that had ever happened to anyone. You must have a very good machine to not let a finger stop it in its' tracks!!!!!
I love Eva's little dress, so cute!
I hope your finger is ok, an old wives tail "if you are sewing and get blood on it, it's good luck....". Hope it didn't put you too far behind..
