Craft Fair

I made it to the craft fair. I am glad I was there early as it was quite difficult to get the pram around after a couple of hours. Eva didn't want to sleep either so after a few hours we left and wandered around the city. Not before I spent most of my money at Amitie. My favourite find was these gorgeous fabrics I think they are Japanese, but there is no selvege with writing on any of the bits I bought. If anyone knows who makes them I'd love to know.
Some more shoes arrived from from Melissa today. I think these are my favourite so far. You can't go wrong with red poppies.
I finally found some more of this material last week and grabbed the last 2 metres of it. I think this is one of my favourite ever fabrics.

Packing and Cleaning

Going away always seems like a great idea until you actually have to pack and leave, but I am going to try and make it to the Craft Fair in Perth tomorrow.
A new bag. Love this barkcloth fabric. It is always a buzz to find barkcloth in perfect condition.

Growing

Perservering with breastfeeding has definitely paid off. Eva is over 4.5kg.

Grace and Amelia at about the same weight. Just one slight difference - they are 6 months old.

At the moment Eva has been having good afternoon sleeps (don't ask about the rest of the day) so I have had a little time to sew. I'm not sure what this is, but he looks pretty happy.

A hat that's not pink

This ball of wool became a little hat. A nice change from all the pink clothes around here. Not that I have anything against pink - I love to dress the girls in pink, but I would like a change now and then. I went into Target last week and all the baby clothes were pink. Boys got to choose from blue, brown, red, orange and green. Another good reason to sew clothes for them.

I thought things were a little too quiet.

Thanks

Thankyou everyone for your kind words about my Nan. She really was an inspiration. I hope if I live to 91 I am able to be like her - driving a car, swimming, living independently and taking belly dancing lessons.
My gorgeous new niece Emmeline.

Emmeline is so different to Eva. Emmeline is a perfect little version of her big sister and Eva is a perfect little version of Amelia and Grace.
I had some gorgeous mail when I returned from Perth on Friday. Thanks Hilde - it made my day.

Noma

Life can be so strange. One day can have so much sadness and the next so much joy. My wonderful Nan Noma passed away yesterday and today my sister Jane had a baby girl - Emmeline.

Ottobre Sewing

One of the best things about twins is that there is always someone to play with especially as they get older. The first year with them was really difficult, but it is much easier now. They are quite happy playing with each other. The best things about our little house are I can hear the girls wherever I am ( and see them most of the time) and there isn't loads of housework. These two things combined with Eva having a good afternoon sleep yesterday resulted in some sewing time. Tops from Ottobre 1/2008. I love this pattern. So simple and quick and it looks great. Grace chose this pink kombi van material - one of my favourites.
Eva with her eyes open and not screaming - it doesn't happen often, but she loves the bath

Knitting and Spinning

I finished spinning the rest of the dusty cornflower before I had Eva, but just finished setting the twist. I think it will become a little hat.
I am finally making some progress on the green cardigan. Very slow going.

Ali and Matt's Wedding

I finally have some pictures of Ali and Matt's wedding which I missed as I was having Eva. Mum took a picture of the girls with the bride and groom and we just worked out how to get it off the phone.
Grace at the ceremony.
