Bad Trip: To the hospital yesterday to get the sewing machine needle removed from my finger. Lucky for you there is no picture of it. Straight through the nail and out the bottom of my finger. Pretty pleased I didn't faint or vomit or get a drop of blood on the fabric.

ReplyDeleteI made that dress, i did choose a 100% cotton and had very bad drape, so finished chopping it up as a top. Very comfy. I did not need to put a zipper, it just goes through the head. Would love to see the results : )

ReplyDeleteI remember my Mum doing that when I was a child, it freaked me out so much I won't sew on a machine now. Good on you for no blood on the fabric - a true seamstress.

My mom told me her fingernail meets sewing machine horror story from her youth, and I've lived in fear of that my whole sewing career! I'm impressed you didn't bleed on the fabric, though. Hope your finger makes a quick recovery!

omg, my worst nightmare happened to you! yikes that is not good! I did once get my fingers stuck in the beaters but thankfully it was butter and it stopped the beaters going. Hope you'll be back sewing soon,.....

I am swaying just thinking about your finger Kate let alone actually seeing it! I have always wondered if that had ever happened to anyone. You must have a very good machine to not let a finger stop it in its' tracks!!!!!
