A new skirt using New Look Pattern 6317 which I have owned forever. It has a great basic, simple skirt with only 4 pieces. It was a bit boring in plain brown corduroy so I cut across the front a few times and added some pieces of a vintage curtain. Now it is a little more interesting. The sewing was also made interesting when I managed to sew my finger. I was sewing the zip with minimal pins and was just thinking how clever I was as it looked ok and somehow my finger ended up being sewed. It is ok now. I managed to find a Wiggles band aid and we all know they fix everything.
Apparently you can never wear too many hats.

LOVE the skirt!! Great job Kate. Thank goodness for wiggles band aids, I don't know how any of us survived without them :) xox
That skirt looks destined to become a favourite. there is something about brown corduroy that screams comfort on those days when nothing else will do!
Beautiful variation on a classic skirt!!
Andi :-)
Love the skirt. When I was at uni I sewed over my finger and the needle broke in my finger and had to be removed in surgery. Lucky you and your Wiggles bandaid.
That skirt is sooo cute! And Evie, too, with the hat =)
auch, that must hurt! I remember my mother once sewed in her finger, luckily I 've never done that (so far);
sweet eve with her hats, did she do it herself, or did her sisters help her?
Oh gosh.... that's must be really painful, luckily wiggles band aids did the work. The skirt is really interesting.
I love corduroy. Cute skirt.
great skirt and a very cute hat model!
when you look that good, you can wear as amny hats as you like!!! I love your skirt...nothing like a revamp of an old favourite, they never let you down..
that skirt is adorable! hehe, love the multi hat wearing :D
great skirt you have a great eye for detail
Love the skirt!
Love the skirt Kate, but ouch about sewing your finger. I am sure the Wiggles bandaid did wonders, hehehe. She will certainly keep her head warm wont she, but oh so cute!
Cute skirt!
gorgeous skirt!
Glad to hear your finger was aved by the wiggles...
And don't knock the hat thing... it saved my boy from a split head... pity he wasn't wearing them four days later when he ended up with 3 stitches!
Oooh I love that skirt. It is been a plan of mine to make some skirts to wear at the show in Sydney and I haven't yet. Yours is perfect inspiration! I have sewed through my finger once and it was seriously painful so I hope your is ok even though you had the highly beneficial healing powers of a Wiggles bandaid!! Your little Evie is such a sweetie!
Beautiful skirt, and I also want to say Thanks a million for sending me the two patterns I bought on Etsy, so qickly. I've loved both the fish and the elephant for so long and I didn't realize you sold the patterns until the other day when I read your post about copyright. I totally agree.

Love that skirt. So worth the sewn finger. (Easy for me to say - it wasn't my finger!) Love the printed cord bits!
Ouch that would have hurt!!!!Sweet photo of a new way to wear hats!
Nice splash of color on the skirt, love it! Glad your finger is okay. :) Evie looks so cute!
Ouch. Great skirt though.
I get made to wear Wiggles bandaids on a regular basis when I don't even have any injuries. Great fashion statement I suppose!
Loving the skirt... :)
How on earth did you manage to sew your finger?
Your finger? I have done some strange sewing things but never my finger. Of course tomorrow I will.
And no, never enough hats.
