It was inevitable. Knitting and then spinning and now dyeing. I thought I'd try kool aid first. I can't believe people drink that stuff. It does dye nicely though.
I have this on my list of things to try too. In my cupboard I have about 10 packets of the stuff in different colours which was sent to me in a swap a couple of years ago. After reading that you can dye wool with it a while ago it totally put me off making it into anything drinkable!! Can't wait to try it (later on, after I have the baby and finish setting up house etc etc etc....!!)
We just made play dough with it the other day! It is very soft and nice. 1 cup flour 1 package Kool-AidKool-Aid (any flavor) 1 tablespoon cream of tartar 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1/4 cup salt 3/4 cup boiling water (the original recipe called for one cup of boiling water, but I found it made the dough too loose- aim for 3/4 cup and add more if needed)
Mix all dry ingredients in bowl then oil, then pour boiling water in and mix thoroughly.

yeah, isn't that freaky? i will never drink kool-aid anymore!
never tryed kool-aid but now i'm wondering what colour 'coke' would come out as ....

Never had the urge to drink kool aid but after seeing what it does to yarn I don't think I will ever try it.

Your yarn is great! I have some Kool Aid - I must try dyeing the KnitPicks yarn that I have! I wonder if it will turn out as nicely!
ooooh! that may be my favorite kool-aid dying job ever. i'm very into red and orange at the moment....
