Simplicity 3775

I think I have overcome my fear of sewing knit fabrics. This is Simplicity 3775 made from cotton jersey. I didn't make any adjustments to the pattern and it was quite easy. Although the fabric drove me crazy as each piece kept rolling up so there was lots of pinning to stop that. This dress might be the equivalent of the fisherman's skirt I made during summer. I ended up making about 4 of them and I can definitely see myself more of these dresses.

Wow, how did you get past the very average pattern picture to make such a fabulous dress? It looks like it could have just been in Leona Edmiston window.

  19. Looks great Kate! Good job! 2 stretch pieces now, CONGRATS. You do get use to sewing with stretch, even though it slips. I like it, as there is no fitting or darts needed.
It looks great with leggins and can't wait to see you whip up some more. If you need any stretch patterns, come visit next time your in Perth and we can cut a copy with interfacing. Lvoe Lee

  21. I like this dress! I love sewing clothes for my girls, but haven't sewn anything for myself in a while. I'm whipping up a couple "pillowcase" style dresses for the girls this summer!
