Simplicity 2603

If you are looking for a really simple quick project Simplicity 2603 is it. Started and finished last night. Because of the drape (and I was feeling lazy) I didn't hem it. I used some stripey fabric from Spotlight. I can never go past red and white stripes. Not the most flattering look draping stripes over my tummy, but this cardi is so comfortable. I think this would be fantastic in some charcoal wool jersey.

  1. love it, love the tie at the back too! I think I have that fabric in my stash from last year but must pull it out and do a top for myself!!!!!! it's getting cold here and there isn't much in my wardrobe to fit me right now

    Hi Kate,
Love the pictures! You look great, I really like the way it ties at the back. It'll look great in charcoal!
I've posted a small gift, on my blog, to thank all the people who've visited me since I started blogging. It just a small gesture (don't get your hopes up too high!), but I thought of you might appreciate it!
    Keep smiling!

Would work well in a merino knit.

  14. Hey Kate, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Now you know why I love sewing stretch, it's so easy, specially a wrap! I have that pattern and it's one of my fav's too. A overlocked rolled-hem looks great with stretch. Stripes look great and I wouldn't worry about them going across your body. I hope you wear this tops heaps, they are so comfy... Love Lee

  15. Your top is lovely! Do you think it could be easily used as a breastfeeding top? I desperately need some new breastfeeding tops, and want to make them, esp if they are easy to make :)
