Hair Elastics

I pinned this tutorial on pinterest a little while ago. I made some buttons but there was no way I could thread the elastics through the back of the button. I am probably not telling any of you out there anything new, but it did take until this morning for me to work out a way to do it.
Thread a piece of string (I used a scrap of sock yarn) through the elastic and then both ends through the hole.
Pull firmly and it will pop through and you can tie a knot.

  3. Very clever Kate! One other thing you could do is -- after you have the forst end through - now there's a loop pn each side of the shank -- stick one loop through the other and pull it to cinch it up. That way you don't have to tie a knot - quick and dirty!

  4. I do it the same way as Thimbleanna. The buttons with the metal shanks have a larger eye to thread the elastic through, but I actually prefer the plastic ones as well.....
