While I have been pondering which cardigan I want to knit for myself (the only downfall to ravelry is having all the information in one place and too many choices) I whipped up a couple of scarves for presents. The pattern is Queen Anne's Lace and each one used a whole skein of Malabrigo Merino Worsted which is incredibly soft and perfect to wear around the neck. I have another skein here so I think I need to make one for myself.
What a pretty scarf pattern. Now the weather is starting to cool that could be the perfect project for me to do in front of master Chef!
ReplyDeletegosh they are lovely kate! so delicate. love them.

They are gorgeous!! And it's well and truly scarf season here so I'm feeling a bit of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love them! On my to do list :)
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how you just 'whip up' these things! Love that pattern..and the name..my granny always grew Queen Annes Lace near the front steps of her house when I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty Kate!
ReplyDeletenice scarves Kate....
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteI have just discovered your blog and love it!
Such pretty scarves, were they difficult? I've heard that the queen Anne scarves can be hard to make.
Well done
Kate :)
So pretty! I didn't know that pattern is called Queen Anne's lace. I made a baby rug with that pattern once. It turned out to be lovely. I used a 4 ply yarn with a 5mm hook. It was so soft and lacey.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kate!!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of these - I might have to just make myself one:)
ReplyDeleteOh Kate, love them! They would sell like hot cakes!! Lve the colours too. lv lee
ReplyDeleteYour Queen Anne's Lace scarves are beautiful! I found you while searching for a pattern for QAL scarves. I'll bookmark you and come back for a longer visit. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI.m ending the flower on the wrong side i think. How do i get back into the pattern? Do I end here and begin a new loop again in the centre? Its bugging me so much and I've unravelled twice already. ;(
ReplyDeleteThanks for helping out a stranger.
Hi Natasha, it's been so long I really don't remember and I am not great at crochet. Have you looked at ravelry or asked on any of the crochet forums on there, you might be able to get an answer there.
ReplyDeleteThat's ok Kate. Thanks for responding.
ReplyDeleteI figured a way out. I ended it at one end of the scalloped flower and began again on the other. It worked beautifully well.
Now suitably chastised, I'm being more careful, and attached a safety pin as a tracker. So far, smooth crocheting.
Ciao,
Natasha
