Blogger's Quilt Festival October 2010

It is time for another Bloggers' Quilt Festival! I made this quilt about 18 months ago. I started by making one simple block and then I pulled out lots of fabrics with aqua, red and green in them. I tried to use lots of different fabrics with different shades of the three colours. I wanted to use the same size rectangles in the border so the first border is just rectangles and the second one is flying geese for something a bit different. This is probably still my favourite quilt that I have made and has been on my bed all of winter.

  7. I loved this quilt from the first time I saw it on your blog. So much so that I bought the pattern to make one for myself via fatquarter shop. Next week I'm off to the quilt festival in Houston and I'll have the pattern instructions in my handbag so I can buy some additional fat quarters to supplement my stash. I think I'll go a similar colour combination.

  29. Love the quilt! The colors are so happy. Are you the designer of the platypus in the header? I think it is in the same Australian Homespun that the quilt from my Quilt Festival post is in. I will make that someday too, especially since seeing real platypuses in Healsville. It would bring back wonderful memories of my visit to Australia. Your version is just adorable.
