Books and Beds

The books are unpacked and in bookcases. The book situation was getting out of control in the old house. Piles of them everywhere. So we bought a couple more bookshelves and there is kind of a reading library thing happening in one corner of the living room.

Up until now the big girls have been sleeping in a double bed, but tonight is the first night they will be in there very own bed. I think they might like the idea of there very own bed more than the reality. They wake upn quie upset if they can't find the other one in the middle of the night, So I imagine the beds will be pushed right together by the morning.

  1. Oh yes, how cute!! My twins would hold hands through their cots (which made them look like they were in prison) just gorgeous. Their first beds were bunks - bottom bunks with big sister on top & the other top empty, eventually we had 4 children in the 4 bunks in the next house, it was fun. One still falls out of bed every now & then, they are 8!! They could never share. Love Posie

  2. I love the beds!! Fingers crossed they get some sleep. The bookshelves are fab. Would love to pop into that reading corner and snuggle up with a good book...not much snuggling going on here! xox

  3. Oh for the love of books. One day I imagine a wall filled floor to ceiling with books...maybe more than one wall. That is such a sweet picture of your girls.

  7. I like your reading corner Kate! I wish I had room for lots of bookshelves in our house as we seem to be accumulating more books all the time. Maybe I just need to downsize the amount of them. The girls look so cute in their grown up beds, and how gorgeous are the new beds. I am sure they will adjust to sleeping apart wont they. Eva looks as though she wants to sleep in there with them too.

  9. My nieces (not twins, 11 months apart) would push there beds together too. More often than not, they would sleep horizontally across the two beds.

New beds are a big step, I imagine.

  10. Your house looks lovely. I am wondering how to tackle the beds issue later in the year when the twins have outgrown their cots.

There's a family joke of ours that we have books in every room except the garage
