Fire

There are so many good things about having a treechange, but there is one thing that isn't. The threat of fires. It has been hot today and a fire that started yesterday flared up. This is what it looked like out the back this afternoon. We watched it move the whole way around town. It seems to have died down a bit and moved away. I can't hear as many fire fighters or the water bombers but the car is packed and we have checked the gutters and have a plan just in case.
I'm hoping there is not too much damage and I haven't heard of any injuries - Chris hasn't had an ambulance call out.
Thank goodness for and thanks to all the people that volunteer and have been fighting it for the past few days.

  1. Fires are so scary. Southern California has fire season around October. Although I no longer live there I'm always aware because I have many friends and family that do. What is a treechange? Stay safe.

  6. How frightening for you. At least you are prepared. I dont like the smell of smoke as we had some from fires 2 years ago and it made everything smell so awful. I cannot imagine how yours must be. I hope the fires are put out soon and you are all safe.

I heard the bushfire warnings over Bunbury radio and immediately thought of you and your family. Thank God it subsided, it was so hot and windy yesterday.

I can smell the smoke this morning.
