Life can be so strange. One day can have so much sadness and the next so much joy. My wonderful Nan Noma passed away yesterday and today my sister Jane had a baby girl - Emmeline.
just a few words from France, she was a very beautiful old Lady... my father passed away one day before my daughter's birth ... (sorry for my bad english)
So sorry to hear about your nan, i see you had a mention on Decor8 blog about australian design, well done. i didn't realise that you had a blog when i posted a piece on your elephants that i got from you. i will link you to mine
Sorry to hear of your loss. We lost my Mama within 3 days of my twin nephews birth, and it was ... strange. But kind of consoling too. Thinking of you, anyway.
so sorry kate. she does look like a beautiful and wonderful lady. life is funny that way, and i think it just reinforces the idea that life is a cycle, with births and deaths coinciding and replacing each other. sending love and good thoughts (and congrats on a new niece!)
so sorry for your loss. but i know what you mean about there sometimes being a flip side to sad things. i was with my grandma when she died, until then, i'd kind of decided i didn't want children, and at that point, i changed my mind. and i'm so glad i did, i see my son and daughter as gifts from her : )
So sorry for your loss Kate. Like the other comments she was a very beautiful woman. We have a saying in my family, He closes a door, and opens a window, I found out I was pregnant with my son the day my Nanna passed. But too, congrats Aunty Kate, Emmaline is a gorgeous name!
So sorry to hear about the loss of your nan. One angel passes to make way for another to arrive. Your niece's name is lovely too. I hope the little girls grow up knowing all about her and how wonderful she was to you too.
It's so difficult to experience two opposite emotions at the same time - profound sadness and grief at the loss of a loved one, and joy at a new arrival. May you find some comfort in the joy of knowing this new little soul.
oh the miracle of life and the miracle of death at the same time! my mother died the year my daughter was born. such sweet, deep agony. sending warmth to you and yours, patrice
My thoughts are with you,the little addition will help to ease the pain. I ve called in to your blogs a few times now to seewhat lovely things youre making, you never disappoint!
Life can be strange...sad and happy all in one. May your two newest little girls in the family get to know thier great nan through your stories and photos.
