We had a lovely end to the long weekend. A visit to my sister on the farm. It was great to show the girls all the animals and they could run free. It is really nice to have my sister living on a farm and my parents still on theirs. I loved growing up on the farm and having the experiences and freedom we had. I am so glad that even though the girls will not have that all the time they can still visit and experience a little farm life.We took some toys over to my niece Lyssie. I can see a little farmer in the making sitting on her John Deere tractor.
The weather is starting to warm up and the girls are needing some summer clothes. I started with some pants. I just drafted a pattern off some winter pants, changed and enlarged it all and then cut it into 3, matching the front and back and sewed it all up.
Oh those pants for the girls are just adorable and so so cute. Do you make them in a size 8 by any chance? I would love to have lived on a farm, although hard work it would have been worth the effort I'm sure. My aunt has a farm about an hour and a bit away, so when she stops travelling I try and take the kids up to play with the lambs. They really enjoy it. Your niece is a cutie pie too.
ReplyDeleteyou are living the life I dream of. to live on a farm, with my kids, my ben and my sewing machine. *ah, such bliss*
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have a farm getaway! We used to have that when I was little....and I still have great memories of that time. So nice that you can share it with your girls!
ReplyDeleteI love those trousers you made, too! That's on my to-do list for the bub's wardrobe.
The farm sounds wonderful - I think it's great for city kids to experience country life too. The pants are just beautiful, you are so multi-talented. And I've just seen your stash from Melbourne - I love it ALL! Those T-shirts are amazing. Thanks for so much inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLovely pants! Great your kids can enjoy the animals on your family‘s farms! When I was young we spend our holidays on farms. Wonderful to experience country-life!

ReplyDeleteHow nice to be able to go and visit on a farm. Sounds lovely!
What a wonderful weekend you had... Being on the farm is so much fun. My grandma and grandpa lived on a farm and we children looked forward to every summer being there. She had chickens, hogs, a couple of cows and big garden full of veggies including a large grapevine running along side of the house... We children could run free from sun up till sun down, oh how we loved it!!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute pants those are...so sweet, bright and cheerful.
Smiles...
