Bias Binding

I think I am a bias binding convert. I've always avoided it in the past, but I've really wanted to make the girls some little jackets and to have binding around the edges. I think I've had the fabric sitting here in a pile for 2 months. Their new jackets from the last post need a wash so I have had two children yelling "Jacket, jacket" at me all day and then I saw this magazine.

And these images in the back and discovered these tutorials and I think I'm converted.

I am making progress on the first jacket. Hopefully there will be finished pictures soon.

Hmm, I've always avoided making my own bias binding, and usually end up wishing I had taken the plunge and made some up. Now I can see why I should, that pic alone is enough! Can't wait to see the finished jacket with your very own bias binding!

I love it - but I would be too scared to even think about making my own bias binding!
Love the new look blog!

I'm a convert too, since I brought my clover bias maker. So easy!!and so much nicer than that crappy stuff you can buy.

I love the look of bias binding, but really had no idea how to do it, so this is very inspiring. Can't wait to see more of the jacket.

I love making my bias binding, too. Could never get the right weight in the shop bought stuff before.

Your magazine looks fab! Care to share your japanese craft book source?

I cant wait to see how your jackets turn out. The fabric you are using looks lovely. I like your new layout too, black is so hard to read for my eyes, so this is much lighter and brighter.

Making bias binding is just a bit too hard for me. I agree that the stuff you buy is crappy, so I just try to avoid the whole thing.
I look forward to seeing the finished jackets and think you are very clever to even attempt them!!

I always thought bias binding would be more difficult but that tutorial is great, I just did a mini practice piece and it really is easy-peasy-japanesey!
Thanks for sharing!
